Last week we were introduced to the new project currently running at Selfridges, Bright Young Things. An interplay between 20 unique up-and-coming artist and designers all under the same roof, bringing everything from geometry to illustrations to the high-end department store. Some are quite bizzare, I have to say, but these artists are the ones Selfridges believe will make the most noise in 2011 and beyond. We had the privilege to see a brief catwalk with bits from some of the 10 first designers involved and we were presented with some quite extra-ordinary pieces. The concept is both a full window scheme (created by the designers themselves) and three in-store temporary shops. Products are also availible online.

Having windows viewed by millions of people every week that are some of the most famous ones in the world you make a big point when you decide to let completely new artists take over the full lot of them. It's something quite magnificently done by Selfridges. And so very brave! But it works so well and the sets are amazing! Walked past them today and were blown away so if you are in London, make sure you have a look. The project will be up till end of next month with the 10 remaining designers to showcase their work on February 4.

sale is driving me mad!

For the past couple of days we have been given several different dates to launch our sale. This has naturally made me re-schedule my life about 5 times this week .. really frikkin annoying. But I hope the date we have been given now is a definite one. With this going live I will therefor be able to spend some more time with my friends and family, as the dates for my Xmas night shifts will occur on days such as bank holidays and days off (which means I get some time off!!) .. so it's all good.

Also I stumbled across some fun characters in store on Thursday. Don't know if you have all seen the new Selfridges Christmas characters?



Well you will be able to meet them in store as they go around and play, dance and joke with customers. They aren't always on the floor though so if you are lucky maybe you'll get the chance to meet them too!

Sitting right now and chilling with sosis. Was going to see a film in the cinema tonight. The nominated ones were either Tron or Megamind :) .. but we missed the viewings so we're gonna bring cinema home instead. Hehe ..

Also, doctors went well. Unfortunatly it looks like the headaches are going to persist a bit longer .. but had myself a nice nap and some food and it feels a bit better already. Tomorrow I'm getting my last bit of seasonal uniform aswell. Will show you what I decided to take.

oh the joys of monday afternoon ..

Sitting and waiting in the doctors office now. The queue seems endless though .. I shudve just booked an appointment. Anyways .. Reason why I'm here is because I was recently in a little accident that has made the headaches I used to have come back. So just here to chat to the doctor and see what he says .. Nothing serious or anything. Well, at least I hope .. ! :|

Such a shame though because the acupuncture I have been going to was making it all better .. Reminds me that I probably should have a little chat with my chinese lady on Thursday aswell.

On the flipside .. Its only 12 days left to Christmas and Selfridges have decided to treat us all with some goodies. Everyday, until the big X day we will get little yummy treats and the chance to win great prices. Hopefully I'll get to bag some early X-mas gifts! :):) Fingers crossed! Xx

Anyways .. Seems like it's my turn soon. Thank god! Let's hope I don't catch anything more here! :P
