As you all might know already I moved from my hometown Gothenburg in Sweden about 6 years ago to study and work in London. Everyone is always eager to move from Sweden and go to new exciting places .. and I do understand that because GBG can be VERY boring from time to time. But after living in such a vibrant and busy city for several years you can't help to think about the little things that made you happy when you lived in Sweden. Here is a little list (not in any particular order) I've put together:
1. Swedish fast food!! The list is endless .. Odinsgrillen is in my heart forever ♥. So is Swedish pizza and McFeast from McDonalds! Ohh .. and Sibylla. You gotta love Sibylla!!
2. Coffee shop culture! They are so cosy and individual and have the best food ever. In big cities like London you mostly find larger chain coffee shops i.e. Starbucks. So chavy but Tintin we love you!
3. Chilling in Trädgårdsföreningen during spring time. Probably been there a million times during my lifetime. Will never get tired of it.
4. Trams (spårvagn)!! You will always have reception while travelling in this city. Haha
5. Fontänen in Brunnsparken. The number one meeting point in the city.
6. The fact that everything is so CLOSE to eachother. Taking a walk with the right person in central GBG is like the best date ever.
7. Scandinavian design. So simple and chique. Not talking about IKEA per se but the fact that everything is so well organised and CLEAN!
8. Communal gardens/hang out places in your area. Yea it was mostly for when we were younger and we didn't do much there .. but still so much fun.
9. Food shopping. Hemköp, ICA, Willys .. even LL!! (does that even exist anymore?)
and last but definitly not least ...
10. Sun beds!! It's a mad culture for people there and it is so cheap. No pale suckers in Sweden .. everyone always look so fresh and tanned.
What do you think? Agree or disagree?
I love Gothenburg and I always say that when I have enough money I will buy myself a flat there .. just so that it will forever be one of my "homes". :) I wonder if I would appreciate all of the things above as much if I decided to never leave though. I guess I will never know huh? Either way I'm happy I moved here .. have had alot of fun here too and have developed alot as a person. But GBG will forever be GBG .. and I therefore think it's time for another visit soon. Maybe even as early as next month? :)
Big love to my favourite city in the world ♥ / P. x

a chocolate factory in wood green?
So my sister was out walking with her dog this afternoon and was explaining the long walk she had. "Yea so we walked all the way to the Chocolate Factory" she said. "The what?" .. And she was surprised I didn't know about this fact. Appearantly there is a chocolate factory here in north London that I didn't have the slightest clue about. Funniest thing is that I have actually walked past it myself without even noticing. Imagine a world like the one Willy Wonka had. Where you can drink from chocolate rivers and dance around with oompa loompas! There will be sweets everywhere and they will never finish! Ohhh .. So I had to look it up to plan my visit. And thats when I got disappointed ..
There are 2 buildings named the Chocolate Factory 1 & 2, but they aren't actual chocolate factories. In the early days George Osborne Baratts bought this development for his confectionary business (you know Bassett winegums?) which was later replaced with Caxton Chocolate for a few years. Now they also decided to move away and today the Chocolate Factory 1 & 2 have become a landmark development housing the works of over 200 artist and creative companies. Like an arts hub. Yeah ok .. very exciting facts but how boring! I was expecting little scary men that work like slaves to make me the best piece of chocolate in the world!
Oh well not to worry .. There are plenty of fun places around the UK for similar experiences i.e. the Cadbury World in Birmingham and the Michton Chocolate Factory in Swansea. So I will bath in a river a chocolate one day .. I WILL!

i need a new laptop!
I am slowly becoming a minor gadget freak. Played around with my phone every second since I got it and I still haven't had enough. But purchases like this seldom come by themselves .. I now need a laptop. I am not at all impressed with the one I've already got since it has given up on me completely. It shuts off whenever it feels like it and is extremely unhelpful :(. So ladies and gentleman .. let me present to you my new eye(I)candy:

welcome 1.1.11 :)
Entered a new year with a positive feeling. Last night was so much jokes. Spend it with people I truly love and had a good few laughs. New Years Eve is to celebrate the beginning of something new and fresh and toasting and welcoming new endouvers and challenges .. and I sure did that. We blew up everything we bought .. Haha .. almost got myself blown up too. But that's all good .. Like I said, had major laughs!! Saw all the fireworks at the strike of midnight from Alexandra Palace too. AMAZING! The whole peripheral of London played a symphony of illumination and sparkles and it was absolutely stunning!
So moving on from last night and entering the first day of the new year means that new goals and aims need to be set. My only new years resolution this year was to make sure I live 2011 in the best way possible.
A few pics from last night:
cheers sogii!
Today I've just been chilling with some red wine and cheese. Yumyum .. found a new passion for red wine. Very random but made some panncakes too so we all had a nice lunching. Being the first day of the year and all I decided to also organise some bits in the house. Been cleaning, tidying and organising all day. Feels good!
Anyways people, have a lovely day .. hope you all had an amazing night last night and wishing you all an even more amazing year ahead.
